Fighting the Caves
November 2023 (211 Words, 2 Minutes)
The fight caves are now more than 18 years old. It was released in RS2 back in the day, back when I was the noobiest of noobs and thought my combat level 52 was the biggest achievement in the world. Turns out, someone already completed the fight caves on the very day it was released.
Times have changed now, I’m older and understand the game much better, and also it has gotten a bit easier to approach the challenge as well. There are countless videos on Youtube and advice on Reddit on how to tackle the specific aspects of the caves. There are F-keys
to change between Inventory and Prayer, there’s the OP Toxic Blowpipe, and many Runelite plugins!
In many of my attempts, I would forget to bring enough darts for my blowpipe, and realise only towards the late game, like 50+/62 waves. In one wave, I ran out of prayer, which frustrated me enough that I spent 9m+ on training prayer. And Jad! My first attempt went well, until the healers spawned. I died trying to tag the healers. For anyone reading this, please switch your ranged weapon to long-range, so that you don’t run into melee distance of Jad! Also, the healers spawn again, if Jad reaches full health! I spent way too long killing healers twice, until I missed clicking a protect prayer and died.
So, if you’re trying to get the fight caves, and are reading this, here are some suggestions:
- Jad simulator
- I highly recommend this video for general tips: The EASIEST way to kill Jad in 2023
- I used the gear recommended in this video: How To Get Your First Fire Cape In OSRS
- In a situation with multiple enemies, it’s mostly a good idea to kill Ranged first, then if the bats are in range, kill them off, otherwise hug Italy rock and safespot the rest from there.
- Force spawn Jad like the video says.
- Make sure there are no healers left out healing Jad when you are killing them! If Jad gets back to full health, the healers will spawn again.
- Finally, take breaks. I had a huge rush of nerves at the final wave and I procrastinated on it for at least 2 days before actually committing.
Good Luck!
